    In this new six-part series, Jamie Oliver is travelling to some of the healthiest places in the world to uncover the secrets of how people there live longer and healthier lives.

  • 1. Costa Rica & Greece

    In the first programme, Jamie visits the Nicoyan Peninsula in Costa Rica, where living to 100 isn’t unusual, and he meets, cooks and eats with five generations of the same family, including 106-year old Jose. And on the Greek island of Ikaria, where people on average live ten years longer than elsewhere in Europe and North America, he meets 84-year-old goat farmer Nikos to find out the secrets of the locals’ long lives.

  • 2. Costa Rica & Okinawa

    In this programme, Jamie’s in the Nicoyan Peninsula in Costa Rica, where he joins fisherman Otto for a meal of freshly caught fish with family and friends on the beach. And in Okinawa, an island 400 miles off the coast of Japan that Jamie joins 74-year-old Grand Karate Master Sensie in his dojo to learn some Karate moves before lunch, which features local hero ingredient, sweet potato.

  • 3. Greece & Japan

    In this programme, Jamie’s in the Greek island of Ikaria, where on average people live ten years longer than in Europe and America. Under sun-kissed skies he forages for wild greens and herbs with local cook Tula, before sharing a healthy hilltop feast with four generations of her family. And in Okinawa, a Japanese island that has one of the longest-lived populations on the planet, Jamie joins local people, including a 93-year-old, for their early morning exercise class and discovers the wonders of local ancient ingredient

  • 4. Greece & Costa Rica

    In this programme, Jamie’s on the Greek island of Ikaria, where people live a decade longer on average and 60% of 90-year-olds are still physically active. He helps 84-year-old Giorgios as he works his land and enjoys the fruits of his host’s labours for lunch overlooking the sea. And he heads to a Costa Rican cattle ranch to eat black beans - a super food ingredient packed with protein and fibre - that keeps the cowboys riding day and night.

  • 5. Okinawa & Costa Rica

    In this programme, Jamie’s on the Japanese island of Okinawa, home to some of the oldest people on the planet. He harvests and eats seaweed, a super food packed with immune system-boosting iron that Okinawans eat every day and that he thinks we should give a try. And he heads to the tropical paradise of Costa Rica to discover how local people’s love of fruit, packed with Vitamin C, could help to explain why they live so long.

  • 6. Greece & Japan

    In this programme, on the Greek island of Ikaria Jamie finds out how whole grain cracked wheat - which could be one of the reasons local people live so long - is prepared the traditional way and helps make a tasty Ikarian speciality, Trahana. Meanwhile, on the Japanese island of Okinawa, Jamie discovers the super food secrets behind local fruit, vegetables, herbs and spices and learns the islanders’ belief in Nuchi Gusui - ‘let food be your medicine’ - from 95-year-old Shoei Kingo who incorporates all the health-giving food he grows into his diet to build a life bursting with vitality.
